It is estimated that as many as 50% of adult women experience the inconvenience, discomfort, and embarrassment of urinary incontinence and voiding dysfunction. Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery is a subspecialty of Obstetrics and Gynecology and encompasses the evaluation and treatment of conditions that affect the female pelvic organs as well as the muscles and connective tissue of the pelvic floor. Dr. Johnson provides care for women with pelvic floor disorders including urinary and fecal incontinence, overactive bladder, pelvic and bladder pain, pelvic organ prolapse such as prolapse of the uterus, bladder or rectum, and problems with voiding.
Having completed a three-year fellowship in the subspecialty, Dr. Johnson has advanced training in complex gynecologic surgery. There is a wide range of both surgical and non-surgical treatment options available to manage most types of pelvic floor disorders.
